Details
Constructed from lightweight balsa and plywood, the airframe supports either a 55-60cc petrol engine or a 12S electric setup, offering flexibility in both budget and performance. Scale features include a fully detailed cockpit, fibreglass cowling, drop tank, bombs, pilot figure and, of course, an authentic 333rd Fighter Squadron colour scheme. Functional flaps and harmonised control surfaces ensure smooth handling and scale flight whilst power systems at the upper end of the range deliver an awe-inspiring performance envelope that suits the P-47 down to the ground.
About the original:
The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was one of the most rugged and heavily armed fighter-bombers of WWII. Nicknamed the 'Jug', it earned respect for its firepower, resilience and ability to dive at speed. The Dan'l Boone scheme commemorates a real aircraft flown by Captain Daniel Boone of the 333rd Fighter Squadron. It's a fitting tribute to the bravery and skill of those who flew these formidable machines into combat.
